The main administration offices for the City of Orillia are located at 50 Andrew Street South, Suite 300. Offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed on government holidays).
The administration offices are in the storied Tudhope building, which has a long history of industrial operations dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, when it housed the carriage and automobile manufacturing operations of the Tudhope Motor Company. In July of 1997, the City of Orillia established its municipal offices in the western half of the refurbished downtown factory. In 2001, this part of the building was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act as a property of cultural heritage value. During this process of preservation and renovation, a state-of-the-art Council Chamber with a seating capacity of 135 was added to the structure.
When you are leaving the main entrance and moving toward the Council Chamber, you will notice a large plaque which lists all recipients of the Order of Orillia Award. Further along the corridor there is a full gallery of photos of the members of the Orillia Hall of Fame.
The privately-owned eastern half of the building has been transformed as well. The upper floors have been developed into upscale apartments and the lower levels provide classroom, lab, and library space for the downtown campus of Lakehead University.
