The Bench and Tree Donation Program is now open for the 2026 Season.
If you would like to have your application considered for the 2026 year, please review the Guidelines and fill out the application (below) and submit online to enviroservices@orillia.ca or print and mail/deliver to the City Centre or Municipal Operations Centre (see application for address locations).

The application has price increases as of January 1, 2026, please call 705-329-7249 to have an application emailed to you for submission.
Please Note: Tree Donation Applications need to be submitted by March 1, 2026 to be included in the Spring 2026 planting period.
The Bench and Tree Donation Program is designed to increase public enjoyment and participation in Orillia's beautiful parks. Benches and trees are ideal gifts for your favorite park and a great way to recognize someone or a group. Best of all, your donation helps support city parks. Bench and Tree donations are tax deductible; an official receipt will be issued by the City of Orillia.
Couchiching Beach Park, Veteran's Park and Tudhope Park can no longer accept applications for benches at this time, and we encourage the public to apply to place a bench in one of our many other parks in the City of Orillia.
Bench Donation
You can donate an existing or new park bench. Existing benches are available and, in some instances, new locations may be available. In either case, a donor recognition plaque will be installed on the bench. Orillia offers two different benches:
Donation Amount:
- Standard Orillia Bench $ 1,769.00 ($2,601.00 on concrete pad - optional - please enquire) effective Jan 1 2026
- Decorative Bench $ 3,745.00 ($4,578.00 on concrete pad - optional - please enquire) effective Jan 1 2026
Once you have decided to proceed with a bench donation:
- Fill out an application and submit online to enviroservices@orillia.ca or print and mail/deliver to the City of Orillia - Bench and Tree Donation Program (see application for locations).
- Once the application is received, it will be reviewed and upon approval, applicant will be contacted to arrange donation payment. Donations can be made by cash, cheque (payable to City of Orillia) or debit card (credit card is not accepted) at the City Centre Location (50 Andrew Street South) or Municipal Operations Centre (20 James Street West).
- Once payment has been received, you may be called to arrange for an on-site meeting with Park staff for bench location.
Tree Donation
Trees are planted in the spring and fall. Requests for spring planting must be received by March 1; requests for fall plantings must be received by August 1. The tree species and varieties are selected based on the park and its location. The City Arborist will help select a tree that suits a desired location.
Donation Amount:
- Standard Tree $ 468.00 (see tree list in Guidelines) effective Jan 1 2026
- Special Order Tree $ 572.00 (please enquire) effective Jan 1 2026
Once you have decided to proceed with a tree donation:
- Fill out an application and submit online to enviroservices@orillia.ca or print and mail/deliver to the City of Orillia - Bench and Tree Donation Program (see application for locations).
- Once the application is received, it will be reviewed and upon approval, applicant will be contacted to arrange donation payment. - Once payment has been received, you may be called to arrange for an on-site meeting to discuss the exact location and the type (species) of tree with the City Arborist.
