Orillia Power Generation Corporation
The City of Orillia is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Orillia Power Generation Corporation Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
To be eligible to serve you may or may not be a resident of the City of Orillia, however, preference will be given to candidates that reside or operate a business in the City of Orillia.The qualified candidate will be:
- experienced in corporate governance, corporate financial structuring, competitive market development and general management of a corporation;
- experienced in a regulated environment, information technology services, engineering or field service operations, strategic alliances, accounting audit/control, financial statements & tax literacy, environmental matters;
- not an employee of the City of Orillia;
- not a member of the Council of the City of Orillia
Qualified persons may submit a letter of interest
along with a resume or curriculum vitae to the undersigned
by Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Applicants may be interviewed. The selected candidate will be appointed by a resolution of City Council for a three-year term to expire December 31, 2026.

- SPECIAL for STUDENTS! Orillia Sunshine Youth Senate - Youth - Get Involved in Your Community! New youth members are needed now! The Youth Senate represents the youth perspective in current events and issues. Members are between the ages of 13 and 19, and eligible to attend school in the local area (including the City of Orillia, Rama First Nation, and the Townships of Oro-Medonte, Ramara and Severn). Applicants may be interviewed. Please include a recent resume or curriculum vitae.
City Council appoints approximately 100 citizens to its many boards and committees. Share your expertise, creative ideas, or interest in serving your community by becoming a member. The scope of knowledge and volunteerism provided through local participation and engagement is of great benefit to the community. Many meet on a monthly basis.

Qualifications
Most often members are required to be an eligible elector of the City of Orillia, but there are exceptions when a non-resident from the local area may also be appointed. Student representatives from the local area schools are also appointed to the Orillia Sunshine Youth Senate for one-year terms aligned with the school year from June 1st to May 31st each year.
Term
Appointments are made for a three-year term or, for the four-year term of Council. Members may be appointed to fill a vacancy mid-term when vacant seats occur.
Remuneration
Citizens who volunteer to serve on City boards and committees are paid an annual stipend as outlined in City of Orillia Remuneration By-law (Chapter 493 of the City of Orillia Municipal Code).
