Project Description |
The project is the reconstruction of Jarvis Street from Laclie Street to Bay Street into a two-lane standard roadway with additional layby parking areas between Canice Street and Bay Street. This includes the replacement of underground infrastructure, such as watermains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, as well as reconstruction of the road surface and sidewalks. The project also includes replacement of the existing watermain, which runs through Couchiching Beach Park to Lightfoot Drive. |

Road Closures and Transit Route Modifications |
May 7th- Please be aware there will be a hard road closure on Jarvis Street east of Laclie Street. Until further notice there will be no through traffic on Jarvis Street between Laclie Street and Parkview Avenue. Access to all residents between Laclie Street and Parkview Avenue will be from Parkview Avenue.
Please be aware that due to the location of the excavation taking place, the north side of the intersection at Jarvis and Parkview will be closed.
Access to Couchiching Park is available from all usual entrance points (i.e Terry Fox Circle and Bay Street). Access to the parking lot that connects Canice Street to Jarvis Street is only accessible via Canice Street; the Jarvis Street entrance/ exit is closed.
Wednesday July 2nd and Thursday July 3rd there will be work done in the intersection of Canice and Jarvis Street. East/West traffic on Jarvis Street through the intersection will be blocked and north/south traffic will be open, but restricted.
July 3rd- The walkway south of Terry Fox Circle will be disturbed, and the walkway will be closed. Pedestrians will be re-routed to use other walkways in the area.
Detour signage will be in place. Two transit stops will be out of service and temporary stops are located on Borland Street East and Bay Street. |
