Mandate
The Orillia Public Library Board is mandated by the Public Libraries Act.
Purpose
The Orillia Public Library Board oversees the operation of the Orillia Public Library, which serves the City of Orillia. The board ensures that the library satisfies the needs of traditional users with book and various media collections, provides access to the World Wide Web (Internet) and electronic databases, and enables clients to access library services from their home computers.
Committee Members
The Orillia Public Library Board consists of 11 members: seven citizens at large, one representative from Oro-Medonte Township, one representative from Severn Township and two members of Council.
Regular Meeting Date
The Orillia Public Library Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month, excluding July and August, at 3:30 p.m. in the Programming Room of the Orillia Public Library. Please contact the Library to confirm dates and times.
