Mandate and Purpose
The Parking Advisory Committee is governed by Chapter 111 of the City of Orillia Municipal Code.
The purpose of the Committee is to identify and advise on customer-friendly and sustainable parking management systems for the City of Orillia.
The terms of reference include:
a) To provide advice to Council on:
i. all matters dealing with revenue generating parking;
ii. strategies to market and promote the variety of City parking programs
iii. matters relating to possible land acquisition, lot development, promotions, time and rate scheduling; and,
iv. specific matters or special projects referred to the Committee by Council (e.g. parking lot beautification).
b) To meet with community groups or persons as deemed necessary, to assist in the completion of reports or recommendations.
c) To review and provide feedback on the annual capital and operating parking budgets.
Committee Members
The Committee shall be comprised of five members as follows:
a) one member of Council
b) one eligible elector of the City of Orillia
c) three members of the Downtown Orillia Management Board (DOMB) or the Business Improvement Area (BIA) with emphasis placed achieving representation from different BIA blocks, as nominated by the DOMB
Regular Meeting Date
The Parking Advisory Committee meets on the third (3rd) Thursday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Orillia City Centre.
