Economic Development Strategy

About the Project

The City of Orillia is undertaking the development of a five-year Economic Development Strategic Plan that will provide City staff the opportunity to engage and consult with residents, employers, local and regional businesses, post-secondary students, tourism organizations, community organizations, and visitors of Orillia to get valuable feedback. The Economic Development Strategic Plan will identify Orillia’s economic vision, mission and goals while providing Council and staff with an actionable framework to guide economic development planning and build economic vitality over the next five years.

There will be several opportunities to share your feedback on economic development related opportunities and improvements through online and in-person surveys, community discussion, drop-in workshops, and social media engagement.

Community, business, and stakeholder consultations will occur between Jan 2024 - Feb 2024.

This webpage will be updated regularly with information regarding project progress to keep you informed and up to date.
