Old Barrie Road Realignment

City Staff have been working with engineering consultants and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) on this multi-year project which will see the redesign of the intersection at Old Barrie Road and the Hwy 12 bypass interchange ramps.  The new design will improve traffic flow by straightening out the curve, installing traffic lights as well as the closure of Harvie Settlement Road at one end.  Other proposed improvements include the extension of the Active Transportation Trail into West Orillia for safe pedestrian access to Rotary Place and Lakehead University.
