On January 1, 2014 the new Ontario Fire Code took effect. This new code contains provisions for fire drills in care facilities. The regulation requires municipal fire chiefs to ensure an annual fire safety inspection is conducted of all care occupancies within their jurisdiction. It also includes a requirement for a Chief Fire Official to witness an approved fire drill.
