The City of Orillia is offering an alternative day camp this summer called ‘Camp Orillia’ to assist those returning to work who require child care. Camp Orillia will be available to City of Orillia residents between the ages of 6 and 12 years and will begin on Monday, July 6, 2020. Camp Orillia will incorporate public-health measures as laid out by the Province of Ontario and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, including physical distancing, small camp sizes, daily health assessments, alternative locations, extensive cleaning measures and modified programming. Registration for City of Orillia residents began on June 10. To register, visit www.orillia.ca/SUN

Winter/Holiday/P.A. Day Camps

The City of Orillia is proud to offer pre-registered and drop-in programs during most holidays. These activities for kids can be fun, simple, educational and will keep the little ones busy and excited! View our activities for kids of all ages during holidays all throughout winter on our Holiday and P.A. Day Activities page. Engage them with these activities and watch them get busy! You will never hear kids say "I'm bored" during the holidays again!

We offer a wide range of winter camps each year -- full-week and one-day -- in December, January and March. Please view and register for these camps on the S.U.N. Registration System. We offer holiday camps during most P.A. Days, winter holidays, and March Break.

Parent Handbook
The Parent Handbook will outline program information and expectations. Please review and ensure that your child is aware of what is expected of them, other participants and staff. Copies are available on this webpage by clicking the image to the left and at Orillia City Centre. Anyone registering for camp must read the Parent Handbook. There will be a sign-off on the first day of camp saying you have read and understood the material. If you have any questions please call us at 705-329-7250.
Child Information Package
To assist in better planning and to ensure that your child has success in an inclusive camp environment, parents must complete a Child Information Package. This form must be submitted at the time of registration. Packages must be received by June 1, 2019. Forms are available at the Community Services Department office or you can click the image to the left. For more information, please contact Megan Visser at 705-325-4786.
 Things You Need To Know
The City of Orillia Community Services Department is proud to offer dynamic summer day camps. We strive to help you in your quest to find the perfect activities to keep your child busy in a fun, safe, educational and exciting environment.
 Our Leaders
  • Value children, treat them with respect.
  • Create environments that nurture healthy development.
  • Are committed to your child's safety and well-being.
  • Receive training in High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development.
  • Possess Standard First Aid and CPR-C.

Program Conduct & Goals
We aim to provide enjoyable activities in a safe and positive environment. We expect all campers to be courteous and respectful to all participants and staff, use non-offensive language at all times, support and appreciate each other, solve problems in a fair and  peaceful manner, include others in their activities, and play without bullying or teasing others.
Lunches Should Be Nut-Free!
Pack a litterless lunch, snacks and drinks daily. We suggest a reusable water bottle (no glass please) so children can fuel up and have the energy to go, go, go! Due to the number of nut related allergies, peanut butter, nuts and any food that contains nut by-products will not be allowed at camp. Please pack your lunches with care.
Medical Information & Medications at Camp

Please ensure all medical information is complete and that everything is up to date with current doctor's name and an emergency contact at time of registration. Your emergency contact should be someone that staff that can reach during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Campers requiring medication at camp need to have a Medication Release Form signed. Medication must be stored in original containers only and camp staff will keep them in a secure location. Medication Release Forms will be available during sign in.

Photo Release
When agreeing to/signing the registration waiver, you are giving permission for photographs of participants may be taken at any time for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to have your child's photo/name used, please call 705-325-4786.
Location, Location, Location
Please note that locations are subject to change. Staff may walk the children to other locations in the city, including the beach or park. Drop off/pick up locations may also change, however parents will be notified of any location changes. In the case of location change due to inclement weather, campers may be bused to a safe place.
Quality Supervision
Regular camp ratio is 1:10, while Kiddie Camp ratio is 1:8. Our camp ratios are also supplemented with support from responsible, trained leadership volunteers.
Summer Camp Payment Plans
Interested in a payment plan? Any of our Customer Service Representatives can help with this! Just visit the Community Services Desk and we would be happy to assist you. A credit card or postdated cheques are required.
Extreme Heat Days
Not all camp locations have access to air conditioning. Staff will ensure children are in shaded areas, have access to water and will focus on low intensity games and activities on extreme heat days. On these days be sure to pack extra water.
Monday is Mail Day!
On the first day of camp, parents/guardians will be given a weekly newsletter outlining the activities for the week, including special themes, trips or outings. All information will also be available at the camp location's Welcome Table.
Extended Care

Extended care is now an optional, additional fee you can add to your camp registration. This is an additional service, separate from the regular day camp program. If our day camp hours are not long enough for you, try our extended care program! Extended care provides supervised activities for one hour before and after the regular camp hours. Extended care is available for an hour immediately before and after camp at applicable locations.

Fees:

- $16.00 per week for full-day camps

- $8.00 per week for half-day Kiddie camps

- $3.50 per one day Kiddie camp

- $32.00 per week for Additional Extended Care

- $48.00 per Theatre Arts Camp (three weeks of full-day camp)

Please note that a late fee of $5.00/15 minutes will be charged for late pick-ups. Extended care is only available at applicable locations and will be noted in camp descriptions.

Pizza Day Fridays
Watch for the pizza symbol on our summer camps in the brochures. This means a complimentary slice will be provided on the Friday of the camp. Please ensure to still send your child with snacks and drinks that day.
