Located at the foot of Downtown Orillia, this popular sandy beach is ideal for swimming, has two playgrounds, a new change room/washroom facility, and concession.
Our beaches are available for use year-round. When they are "closed" or there is a "swim advisory" it means there are no lifeguards are on duty. Conditions are based upon E. coli counts in beach water samples taken over the past twenty-four hours. Couchiching Beach, Moose Beach and Portage Bay are sampled for bacteria weekly. When a swim advisory is in effect, follow-up water samples are taken until the advisory is lifted. Please note, no matter what the level, if it exceeds the provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100ml. we do not recommend you go swimming.
