The City of Orillia boasts one of the best regional hospitals in the province. Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital recently grew by 50% following an $83-million expansion and redevelopment; its new Community Tower is a symbol of health-care excellence. Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is a 230-bed community hospital that provides medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, psychiatric and chronic care services. As well as jointly-run programs with affiliated facilities, the hospital is recognized for a number of specialty services, such as its regional dialysis program and high risk obstetrics and neonatology. In 1997, Soldiers' Memorial was awarded the National Quality Institute's Canada Awards for Excellence: Quality - Health Care trophy. |
