The City of Orillia encourages property owners who own residential buildings with multiple Dwelling Units to ensure all of the Dwelling Units have received Building Permits and continue to be maintained in accordance with the Ontario Fire Code. The life safety of our residents is extremely important.
Legalizing Existing Units:

How to find out if the Dwelling Units are legal:
If you do not know if the Dwelling Units in your building are legal or if you want the City to search our records for any evidence indicating existing Dwelling Units, you can submit the Multiple Unit Inquiry Form and pay the associated fee. The City will search its records and provide you with a letter.
