There are many types and configurations of multi-residential properties. If you are a landlord or owner, there are requirements that you must meet under the Ontario Fire Code, the Ontario Building Code and the City of Orillia Zoning By-law.
Whether you have an apartment building built under a Building Code or you have a house that has been altered to have multiple apartments you should have it inspected by the Fire Department. We highly recommend that building owners contact both the Building and Zoning Departments to ensure that the property conforms to all legal requirements.
