COVID-19 Update

As of Saturday, Dec. 26 at 12:01 a.m., the Province of Ontario is implementing a province-wide shutdown, which will remain in effect in Orillia for 28 days (until Jan. 23, 2021). At this time, the Orillia Recreation Centre, Brian Orser Arena and Rotary Place are closed to the public. All recreation programs and drop-in programs and facility rentals are suspended during the shutdown.

Fun Pass

All Fun Passes will be placed on hold effective December 24th, 2020. For monthly Fun Pass holders, a prorated refund will be placed onto your account. For those with an annual FUN Pass, a credit will be calculated once a reopening date is confirmed.

Drop-in Registrations

All drop-in registrants will be removed from upcoming drop-in time slots from December 24th, 2020 onward. If eligible, refunds for individual registrations will be placed onto your account.

Winter Program Registrations

We are currently reviewing winter program start dates. If your upcoming program must be adjusted, you will be notified via email. Refunds issued as a result of program adjustments will be applied directly to your family account. 

Facility Permit Holders

Facility permit holders will be contact directly regarding the impact to their facility rentals.

Refund Requests

Be advised that all refunds will be issued back to account. If you wish to have your refund issued back to the original method of payment, please email sun_help@orillia.ca. Refund requests will be processed beginning January 11, 2021. 

Hours of Operation

During the shutdown, staff will be able to assist you over the phone or via email Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Our holiday operating hours are: 

Dec 24 – 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

December 25 – Closed

December 28-30 – 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

December 31 – 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

January 1 – Closed 

Further communication will be provided once we have been notified by the Province that the lockdown restrictions have been lifted.

What to Expect During Your Upcoming Program

Signing Up For A Fun Pass or Drop-In Program

Pre-registration is required for fitness centre time slots and drop-in programs at the Orillia Recreation Centre and across City locations. At this time there will be no walk-in availability for purchasing memberships (Fun Pass), drop-in programs or general access to the building. Staff ask that you please purchase your Fun Pass and register for drop-in programming using the online portal.

How to register for Drop-In Programs

People can sign-up for a Fun Pass and/or redeem their Fun Pass gift certificate if previously purchased. Time slots for the fitness center and drop-in programs are now open for registration. Please be aware that when registering for drop-in programs participants must register 24 hours in advance of the drop-in timeslot.

 How To Register For Fitness Time Slots Or Drop-In Programs
  1. Visit Orillia.ca/sun and click on the SUN Registration logo.
  2. Click Sign In in the top right hand corner. If you don’t have an account, click Create New Account and follow the easy steps to create your own SUN System account. Please be aware it can take up to 24 hours for your account to be approved.
  3. Once signed in, click Programs on the banner at the top.
  4. Scroll down and under Program Category, select all the Drop-in Program options.
  5. Find the drop-in program you are interested in and click Add to Cart.
  6. On this page, you will see all the available times for the drop-in program you selected. You may need to scroll down to see all the available times for the week.
  7. At the top, click Enroll Now.
  8. Select the participant you are looking to enroll for the program. Every person attending the program needs to register for the program.
  9. Scroll down and select the date and time you wish to attend. You can sign up for multiple dates and times for each program. Drop-in programs will be available for registration 1 week at a time. Registration will open on Mondays for the following week (For example: Registration will open on Monday, October 26 for all drop-in programs running the week of November 1-7, 2020).
  10. You can register up to 24 hours prior to the drop-in program start time.
  11. Click Add to my Cart.
  12. Complete all the required questions.
  13. Scroll down and click Continue.
  14. On the payment page, if you are only registering your self and no other family members, complete the check out process. Please ensure you agree to the Activity Waiver prior to clicking Check Out.
  15. If you have other family members to enroll, click Programs at the top and begin the registration process again.
 How To View Your Schedule

To access a complete schedule of all the programs you have enrolled in, please follow the following directions: 

  1. Sign in to your SUN Account.
  2. In "My Account", under ‘Account Program’ click ‘Family Member’s Schedule’.
  3. Under ‘ Available Family Members’ click who you want to view and move them into the ‘ Selected Family Members’ box.
  4. Under ‘Available Schedule Details’ move FlexReg into the ‘Selected Schedule Details’ box.
  5. Click ‘View Schedule”.

From here you are able to view your complete schedule. If you have any issues please call the front desk at 705-325-4FUN and someone would be happy to assist you.

 Information For Facility User Groups

Based on the Province of Ontario, Stage 3 Legislation, the following rules and regulations are in place for all recreation facility sport bookings:

  1. Leagues must contain no more than 50 participants total. If participants in a league exceed 50, the league may divide into smaller groups of no more than 50. Players are not yet permitted to play against players outside of their league or group.
  2. Spectator space is very limited in each facility. User groups are encouraged to limit the number of spectators to only essential people.

Additional rules and regulations will be shared directly with user groups when requesting to book a facility.

These rules and regulations are subject to change and may be updated where necessary upon further review of provincial regulations and order and based on direction from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.

Fun Pass

Try all of the services available, ranging from a workout in the Fitness Centre, taking a group fitness class in the studio, trying a drop-in sport and league in the FIBA-sized gymnasium, or a family outing to one of the open swims.

 The Perks
• Unlimited access to the Fitness Centre and walking track.

• Unlimited access to all swimming drop-in sessions, including open swims, lane swims and aquafit.

• Unlimited access to all open gym sessions, including drop-in soccer, drop-in basketball, drop-in volleyball and drop-in pickleball.

• Unlimited access to all kids drop-in programs, including drop-in dance, preschool drop-ins and after school programs.

• Unlimited access to all fitness drop-in programs.

• 10% discount on select registered programs, including camps, with yearly membership.

R: Resident rate - people who pay property taxes to the City of Orillia. N: Non-resident rate.
Infants: Under the age of 1 year are free. 
Families: A family Fun Pass includes a maximum of six people - one adult (max of two) and four or five children under the age of 18, that live in the same household. 
HST: Tax is applied to those 15 years and older.
