About
The Orillia Youth Centre is a safe and supervised space for all youth ages 11-17. Youth can come "hang-out" at the Youth Centre, get involved in our programs, or do their own self-directed activities. Youth can stay for 5 minutes once month or they can visit us seven days week. We are a fully equipped Youth Centre with pool tables, arts and crafts supplies, music instruments, air hockey table, ping pong table, and video games to name just a few. Every month the Orillia Youth Centre puts out a calendar of activities and events which can be found on our website, social media outlets, and hard copies are always available at the Orillia Youth Centre. These scheduled activities range from social to recreational outings including going to the movies, rock climbing, cooking workshops, to having a community partner conduct a workshop or presentation. We also provide opportunities to connect youth to the community. We have involved youth in many of our local festivals including the Mariposa Folk Festival, Roots North Music Festival, community art projects, sidewalk sales, Orillia Winter Carnival, Terry Fox Run, community clean-ups, graffiti removal projects, Rotary Fun Fest, and many more. We offer space for youth to complete community service hours, school volunteer hours, school placements, and college and university placement positions.
Everything The Orillia Youth Centre offers is 100% free of charge for ALL YOUTH.
The Orillia Youth Centre is fully staffed by qualified Youth Workers. All Staff are CPR, Crisis Intervention, and Suicide Intervention trained. All Staff and Volunteers have been vetted with a Criminal Background and Vulnerable Sector Screening from the OPP. Our Staff and Volunteers are positive role models and we always work to have the best interests of the young people we are serving in mind.
