Paying Your Property Taxes

Property Tax Billing 

The City of Orillia issues two property tax bills a year; the Interim tax bill in January and Final tax bill in June. Each bill has two payment installment due dates.

Interim Tax Bill

The Interim tax bill is mailed in January and is based on approximately 50% of the previous years taxes.

• Installment Due Dates: March 15th and May 15th

Final Tax Bill

The Final tax bill is mailed in June and is calculated by using the assessment provided by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) multiplied by the municipal Property Tax Rates, less the Interim tax bill amount.​

• Installment Due Dates: August 15th and October 15th

Pre-Authorized Payments

This payment option is a convenient and secure way to pay property tax bills automatically from your bank account.

Pre-Authorized Property Tax Payment Plan - The frequency of the bank withdrawals is optional:

       Option 1: 10 monthly payments (February to November)

       Option 2: Payments on the regular Installment Due Dates

Online or Telephone Banking

Payments can be made online or by telephone with your bank. To pay online, you’ll need to add the City as a payee. 

Search “Orillia” in the payee search and select the property tax option from the payee list to add the City. ​The 12-digit roll number, on your tax bill, is the account number you will use with no dashes.

Financial Institutions

Property tax payments can also be made at most financial institutions. 

The 12-digit roll number, on your tax bill, is the account number you will use with no dashes.

Please note: Payments made through your bank can take 3-5 business days to reach our office. Payment is credited to the account the date it is received in our office. Please contact your banking institution to confirm.  

In Person

City Centre - First Floor Treasury Counter

Payments of debit, cash or cheque can be made at the City Centre during regular business hours: 

City Centre - Afterhours Drop Slot - CHEQUES ONLY

Payments can also be made by dropping off a cheque to City Centre drop slot, located outside the main doors of the Orillia City Center at 50 Andrew Street. South.

By Mail
