    Winter Made Fun

Welcome Back!

Our staff are working  to ensure the quality you have come to expect in our programs is being maintained while still keeping your health and safety top of mind. We ask for your patience as we navigate this new world of recreation programming.  For more information regarding what to expect at your upcoming programming, how to register and safety protocols check out the Orillia Recreation Centre page.

Safety Procedures
  • Access to registered and drop-in recreation programs will be limited to those whose primary residence is classified under the same Provincial Framework colour as the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU).
  • Everyone entering the facility will be subject to contact tracing and COVID-19 screening and be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver. You will be permitted to show up 15 minutes prior to your reserved time slot.
  • Patrons are being advised to limit their participation in recreation programs to 90 minutes per day to limit frequent, prolonged exposure. This excludes organized sports.
  • Spectators will not be permitted with the exception to allow one parent or guardian for child supervision.
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting measures have been established in accordance with the Provincial guidelines, in conjunction with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
  • Room occupancy limits have been developed to ensure physical distancing can be maintained between participants and instructors. Where possible, staggered start times for programs, gymnasium rentals, fitness centre bookings and swimming lessons have been established to reduce wait times at screening stations and reduce traffic throughout the recreation centre.
  • All participants must wear a mask in common areas. Once you are engaged in the activity you are enrolled in you may remove your mask (exceptions may apply dependent on activity).
  • Please follow all floor markings when entering and exiting the building.
  • Those wanting to attend the fitness centre and/or drop-in programs will need to pre-register for their time slots.
  • Dry changerooms (fitness) will be unavailable at this time.
 ORC & Drop-In Programs

General Information:

  • We are encouraging all participants to register for your activity online at this time.
  • Fitness time slots are available in 75 minute reservations, with half hour breaks in between to accommodate proper disinfection procedures.
  • Fitness and drop-in programs will be available to reserve up to one week in advance.
  • Changes will be permitted up to 12 hours in advance of your reserved time slot.
  • Reservations will be available up to 1 day prior to the time slot.
  • If for any reason you cannot show up for your time slot, please call 705-325-4FUN (4386) to let a customer service representative know.
  • No refunds will be issued for no-shows.
How To Register For Time Slots

Visit Orillia.ca/sun to see what programs are available that week.

  • Click “Add to Cart”. Doing this will bring you to all the details of the activity you wish to enroll in including available time slots and fees, if applicable.
  • Click “Enroll Now”. You will be then prompted to log into your SUN system account. If you do not have an account, please create a new account (approval for your account can take up to 24 hours).
  • Assign a participant you are trying to enroll in the program and then click “Continue”.
  • This will bring you to a landing page where you can choose which time slots you wish to attend.  For example, if you just want to sign up for Pickleball on Monday, but no other time slots, you can just click off the Monday time slot you are interested in. If you wish to attend Tuesday as well, ensure you click off both Monday and Tuesday time slots.
  • Once you have clicked your desired time slots, click “Add to Cart”.
  • If you possess a FUN Pass and are registering for a fitness time slot or drop-in program at the ORC, registration is free. If you are not a member, or the drop-in takes place at Rotary Place, you will be charged the appropriate drop-in fee for the program. For all our FUN Pass rates please visit Orillia.ca/ORC.
  •  You will then be prompted to provide all the required information as well as agree to our waiver.
  • Once you have paid, you are now registered for the program.
  • If you have any issues registering, please contact our Customer Service Desk at 705-325-4FUN (4386).
 Information For Facility User Groups

  2. Spectators will not be permitted with the exception to allow one parent or guardian for child supervision.

Additional rules and regulations will be shared directly with user groups when requesting to book a facility.

These rules and regulations are subject to change and may be updated where necessary upon further review of provincial regulations and order and based on direction from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
