The participant (or the participant's guardian if under 18) needs to sign or check off online that they agree to the waiver and payment must be made at the time of registration. |

Winter Made Fun: Beginning of December Spring Made Fun: Mid-February Summer Splash: Beginning of March Summer Made Fun: End of April Fall Made Fun: Mid-August |
How do wait lists work? |
If you put yourself on a wait list, staff will notify you of an opening if it becomes available. This can be due to someone withdrawing or, occasionally, if we are able to open up more space. |
Are any discounts available? |
Occasionally, we offer promotional early bird discounts for certain programs. Watch for advertising in the rec guide, on social media, and in the section above. When we offer discounts, we lower the prices until the advertised due date so no coupon codes are required. Discounts cannot be applied after prices go up. We also offer a senior discount of 25% for anyone 60 years of age or older. This discount is automatically applied to your registration based on the birth date we have on file. |
Course Cancellation |
We endeavour to run all program as advertised, however occasionally programs need to be cancelled if the minimum enrolment is not met. Programs are dependent on instructor availability and program demand. We will decide if a program can run or not approximately one week before the start date. This allows registrants enough time to find another program. Please note that all programs have different minimums based on costs. If the minimum amount of participants is not met on week prior to a program's start date, said program would be cancelled. Register early to avoid cancellations. If a course is cancelled, you will be contacted and a full refund will be issued to your account.
|
Course Availability |
To find out what courses are currently available, please contact us at recreation@orillia.ca or 705-325-4FUN (4386) during regular business hours or visit the S.U.N. Registration System. |
Payments |
Full payment is required upon registration. Registrations must be done in person at the Orillia City Centre or online on the S.U.N. Registration System so that you can agree to/sign the waiver. |
NSF Cheques |
There is a $36.00 administration fee for all NSF cheques and returned payments. |
Non-Resident Fee |
A non-resident fee of 25% will be added per person, per course. |
Age Limitations |
Check individual programs for age restrictions. Instructors are aware of the development needs of children and tailor specific classes to meet these needs. Allowing children that do not meet the requirements into programs could potentially cause distractions and lower the quality of the program for all participants. Exceptions could be made depending on the level of maturity and the parents’ discretion coupled with the nature of the program. Please note that supervisory ratios are also different, depending on the program. To ask about an age override, please contact Megan Visser, Recreation Program Supervisor, at mvisser@orillia.ca or 705-325-4786. |
Registration Confirmation |
Registration is only confirmed when you receive a confirmation. Online, you will be able to print a confirmation receipt. In person, you will be given a copy of your receipt. You can request this be emailed instead. |
Late Registration/Proration |
Typically, you can register until the halfway point of a course (if it still has openings). Most programs will be prorated unless otherwise specified. Refunds will not be provided for missed classes once enrolled. |
Withdrawing from a Program |
Refunds/credits will be issued up to seven days prior to the start of a program with an administrative fee of 10%. Visit the S.U.N. Registration System to withdraw from a program seven days prior to the start. Medical refund requests must be accompanied by a doctors certificate/note and the 10% administrative fee will be waived. Refunds will only be processed up to the halfway point of any recreation/culture program. Absolutely no refunds will be given after the mid-point of a program. The refund will be pro-rated based on the number of classes left in the recreation/culture program at the time the request is received, regardless of the date the registrant stopped attending the recreation/culture program. |
Credits/Refunds |
If a program is cancelled, you will get a full refund placed on your account. You may request this be refunded back to your original method of payment. We do not save your credit card information automatically for security purposes so we will usually require that information from you to process the refund. If you paid by cash or debit you will need to come to the Orillia Recreation Centre to obtain the refund. Please note that credits left on your account will expire 24 months after the date of the original credit entry if not obtained. |
