Music in the Park

In celebration of the Concert Series' comeback, a special artist market will be introduced to both open and close the events. This market will showcase the talents of local artists from the surrounding area, creating a vibrant atmosphere for residents and visitors to enjoy while immersing themselves in the captivating melodies of Orillia and its neighboring brass bands.

Youth Artisan Market Details

Calling all youth artists and craftspeople! The City of Orillia is looking for vendors to be a part of a special Youth Artisan Market set to take place at Couchiching Beach Park in conjunction with the popular Sunday Evening Band Concert series this summer.

The market is being supported by the Orillia Youth Centre and is open to youths aged 10 to 21. The market will be held on July 28, 2024, and will run in tandem with the Sunday Evening Band Concert from. There is no cost to participate; however space is limited.

Applications are due by May 17, 2024. The City’s Culture Coordinator will be working with the Orillia Youth Centre to select vendors. Vendors will be chosen based on the uniqueness and quality of products, contributing to the overall diversity and appeal of the market.

Artisan Market Vendor Waiver

Overview

• Date: Sunday, July 28, 2024.
• Time: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Cost: FREE
• Location: Couchiching Beach Park.

What's Provided

• A 10'x10' plot for you to set up (Please note: Ground is not perfectly level, you may require wedges, etc. to level your tables). Staff will guide you to your allocated spot.

What's Required

• Vendor Waiver: Vendors must provide the City of Orillia with a signed vendor waiver. The waiver must be signed and submitted by no later than June 7, 2024 at noon. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your booking.
• Adult Supervision: While this is a youth market space and there will be adult supervision on-site for the duration, parents or guardians are allowed to stay with their vendors, however, please allow and empower those youth to conduct their business.

What's Not Provided

• Tent/Booth: Tents, booths, tables or other structures are not provided. If you do not have access to such structures, please contact Allie Bradford, at abradford@orillia.ca. If you are using such structures, they must be secured to the ground using sandbags or other weights. Spikes or similar objects that are driven into the ground are not permitted.
• Wifi: There is no wifi onsite. Please make sure you have a data plan if your payment terminals require internet connection.
• Hydro: There is no electricity onsite. Please make sure to bring portable batteries to charge your phone and other devices.
• Water: There is no water onsite. Please plan accordingly.

Itinerary

• 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Vendors may arrive and set up.
• 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: Vendors may sell to the public.
• 9:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.: Vendors may pack up and leave the park.

Code of Conduct

• Smoking and/or vaping by vendors is not permitted at the park.
• Vendors must remain with their booth open for the duration of the event.
• Vendors must remain in their own booths/stalls when selling.
• Sales must be conducted in an orderly and businesslike way, and no shouting or other objectionable means of soliciting trade are permitted.
• Vendors should be respectful to customers, other vendors and City staff.
• Vendors must be respectful of the Sunday Evening Band Concert series, this market is to enhance the event.
• No alcoholic beverages are permitted at the market.
• Storage containers and equipment shall be confined to one’s Market space and kept out of sight.
