Music in the Park
Nestled in the heart of lake country, Orillia boasts a rich musical history that has earned it recognition as the musical hub of cottage country. From its ties to legendary singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot to its thriving live music scene, the city has long been a magnet for artists and performers. Each summer, the City of Orillia hosts a variety of free concerts at Couchiching Beach Park’s iconic Rotary Aqua Theatre. These performances offer residents and visitors the chance to enjoy live music by the lake, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. By celebrating local talent and creating accessible opportunities for the community to come together, Orillia continues to honour its proud history as a music hub while building a legacy for future generations to enjoy.

All Music in the Park events are free to attend. Donations from the community help enhance the experience and support future events.
Music & Makers
The City of Orillia is excited to introduce "The Music & Makers Series", a brand-new pilot project launching this summer at the iconic Rotary Aqua Theatre. This FREE community event will run Friday evenings from July through August and will feature live concert performances alongside vibrant artisan markets. Each week will highlight a different genre, offering attendees an opportunity to explore a wide variety of sounds and styles. All concerts will be held between 6:30 p.m and 8:30 p.m.

Cancellations
- Should there be inclement weather in the forecast, the concerts will be CANCELLED.
- A decision will be made by no later than 2:00 p.m.

In addition to live music, the Music & Makers series will feature an artisan market each week, providing a unique opportunity for artists, makers, and vendors to showcase and sell their work to the community. This vibrant addition to the concert series aims to enhance the cultural experience for attendees while supporting the local creative economy. The Markets run from 5 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. From handcrafted goods and original artwork to unique artisan products, the market provides a space for artists, makers, and small businesses to connect with residents and visitors alike. Youth Market Takeover |

In celebration of Music & Makers' Youth Night, held on August 1st in partnership with the Orillia Youth Centre, there will be a Youth Market Takeover! Youth makers, crafters, and creators are invited to join the market free of charge to show off their talents and gain experience selling their products to the public.
This opportunity is available to youth makers under the age of 25 - caregivers and trusted adults are welcome to assist, but booths must be youth-led and selling products handmade by the youth maker.
The Youth Market Takeover will run on August 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. at Couchiching Beach Park. Applications will be accepted until July 25th, 2025.

Sunday Evening Band Concerts
For nearly half a century, Orillian’s have gathered at the Rotary Aqua Theatre on warm summer evenings to enjoy the sounds of local big bands. Free to the public, this beloved tradition has become a musical feast for the community fostering a sense of unity and connection amongst attendees. As the sun sets over the historic venue next to Lake Couchiching, the melodies of the big bands resonate, creating a timeless and harmonious backdrop for friends and families to come together. This iconic gathering continues to weave the threads of nostalgia, community, and musical appreciation, marking the Rotary Aqua Theatre as a symbol of unity and enjoyment for generations past and those yet to come. All concerts will be held in the Rotary Aqua Theatre between 6:30 p.m and 8:30 p.m. Should there be inclement weather in the forecast, the concerts will be CANCELLED.
