The City of Orillia reminds residents of facility closures and service schedule changes over the Easter long weekend, taking place Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21, 2025.
City of Orillia administrative offices will be closed on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, 2025. This includes:
- Orillia City Centre (50 Andrew St. S.)
- Municipal Operations Centre (20 James St. W.)
- Wastewater Treatment Centre (40 Kitchener St.)
- Water Filtration Plant (200 Bay St.)
Hours of operation for other City facilities/services include:
- Orillia Transit/OWLS:
No service on Friday, April 18 and Sunday, April 20, but runs on Monday, April 21.
- Orillia Recreation Centre (255 West St. S.):
April 18: Closed
April 19 and 20: Open regular hours
April 21: Open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Rotary Place (100 University Ave.): Closed on April 18.
- Barnfield Point Recreation Centre (500 Atherley Rd.):
Open: April 18, 19: Open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Closed: April 20, 21 - Orillia Opera House Box Office (20 Mississaga St. W.):
April 18, 20, 21: Closed
April 19: Open regular hours.

- Leacock Museum (50 Museum Dr.): The museum is closed for the season and will reopen on May 1, 2025.
- Orillia Public Library (36 Mississaga St. W.):
Closed: April 18, 20 and 21
Open: April 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Orillia Farmers’ Market (36 Mississaga St. W.): The Market will be running as regularly scheduled. Visit orillia.ca/ofm for details.
Holiday Waste Diversion Site Hours and Waste Collection Schedule
The Waste Diversion Site located at 100 Kitchener St. will operate with the following hours for the Easter long weekend:
Closed: April 18, April 20 and April 21
Open: April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Waste Diversion Site is now open for regular operations and is no longer limited to drop-off of storm-related essential loads only, but please expect delays. The City of Orillia is waiving fees for disposal of ice storm-related debris at the Waste Diversion Site until April 26, 2025. This includes brush, tree wood, stumps, wood chips, impacted drywall, spoiled food and water-damaged material.
Due to the Easter holiday, there will be no garbage, recycling, green bin or yard waste collection on Friday, April 18. Friday’s collection will take place on Saturday, April 19. There will be no recycling, green bin or yard waste collection on Monday, April 21. Collection will be delayed by one day. Items must be at the curb by 7 a.m. to ensure collection. The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, April 28.
