The City of Orillia will begin replacing exterior light fixtures across the city in the coming weeks as part of a citywide LED retrofit project. The project includes upgrades to lighting in parking lots, alleyways, athletic fields, and parks, with completion expected by March 2026.
Residents may notice temporary closures of certain parking areas or sections of athletic fields and parks during the installation period. User groups will be notified directly in advance of any field closures.
This capital project will help reduce the City’s energy use, lower maintenance costs, and improve lighting quality across community spaces. The new LED fixtures are more efficient and environmentally friendly, providing long-term savings and a smaller carbon footprint for our community.
