For immediate release (May 8, 2025) – The City of Orillia would like to advise residents and transit riders that starting Monday, May 12, 2025, the transit shelter located beside Walmart will be temporarily out of service as underground infrastructure work is carried out on Murphy Road and Uhthoff Line.
To maintain service for the West Ridge via Coldwater Road Transit route and ensure the safety of both passengers and transit operators, a temporary transit stop will be available in front of Walmart between the two main entrances (see Detour Map). Transit riders are advised that pickups will only occur at this designated temporary stop during the construction period.
The work taking place is part of the development of the Inch Farm Arterial Road Project and involves construction of a portion of a new arterial road including all underground and above ground infrastructure to support proposed residential development and the greenfield development.
The City thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during this essential infrastructure improvement.
