TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Orillia intends, as early as the meeting of Monday, January 12, 2026, to consider a request by 2499976 Ontario Inc, for removal of a Holding Symbol (File No. D14-951) pursuant to the provisions of Section 36 of the Planning Act, as follows:
Location:
The subject property is located on Queen Street east approximately mid block between West Street South and Front Street South and is municipally known as 55 Queen Street East. The subject property is shown on the Location Map attached to this Notice.
Purpose and Effect of the Removal of the Holding Symbol:
A portion of the property is located within the Waste Disposal Assessment Overlay Holding Zone in Zoning By-law 2014-44, which imposes a Holding provision pursuant to Section 36 of the Planning Act on all properties with proximity to existing or former waste disposal sites in the City. The purpose of the amendment is to remove the Waste Disposal Assessment Overlay Holding Zone from the subject property.

Appeal:
The removal of a Holding Symbol is not subject to appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal except by the applicant in the case of Council’s refusal to remove the Holding Symbol.
