Public Meeting - Building By-law and Permit Fees
Pursuant to Subsection 7(6) of the Building Code Act, R.S.O. 1992 as amended.
TAKE NOTICE that the City of Orillia will hold a Public Meeting (in person) on February 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM , or as soon thereafter as the matter can be dealt with, in the Council Chamber, Orillia City Centre, 50 Andrew Street South, to consider the passing of a by-law to adopt new and amended building fees and charges under Section 7(6) of the Building Code Act.
The general expectation is that members of the public shall participate in person and electronic participation will be facilitated for unusual, exceptional circumstances only. Members of the public wishing to participate electronically in this meeting shall provide notice to the Corporate Services Department - Clerk's Division at clerks@orillia.ca no later than February 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
Oral and Written Submissions
All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting of Council and any person who attends the meeting may make representation relating to the proposed fees.
Members of the public wishing to comment on the proposed amendments can provide written submissions to the Corporate Services Department - Clerk’s Division at clerks@orillia.ca or by mail to 50 Andrew Street South, Orillia, ON L3V 7T5 by February 27 at 10:00 AM. Written submissions must include your full name, address, and an email or telephone number at which you can be reached. Individuals who make written submissions should be aware that their submission and any personal information in their correspondence will become part of the public record.
Information Available
The City will make available information setting out an estimate of the costs of providing the services, the amount of the fees, and the rationale for imposing the fees at the public meeting on February 27, 2023.
The information will be available for public viewing at www.orillia.ca/building or can be obtained in person at the City Centre.
