Notice of the Passing of a Development Charges By-law
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Orillia passed By-law Number 2023-009 on February 13, 2023, under Section 2 of the Development Charges Act, 1997. This by-law replaces By-law Number 2018-14, being a by-law for the imposition of Development Charges, as amended;
AND TAKE NOTICE that individuals or organizations may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal under Section 14 of the Act, in respect of the Development Charges By-law, by filing with the Clerk on or before March 27, 2023 at 4:30 p.m., a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law and the reasons supporting the objection.
By-law Number 2023-009 sets forth the City’s requirements applied to new construction for payments directed at funding the improvements to municipal infrastructure related to both residential and non-residential growth. It replaces By-law Number 2018-14, as amended, prior to that by-law’s expiry under the Development Charges Act. The new by- law implements a revised schedule of Development Charges which are applied to development effective February 13, 2023.
The revised development charges imposed by the by-law are as follows:

A key map showing the lands to which the by-law applies is not provided as the by-law imposes development charges with respect to all lands within the corporate limits of the City of Orillia.
