For immediate release (Oct. 24, 2025) – The City of Orillia reminds residents that seasonal overnight parking restrictions will take effect on Nov. 15, 2025, and continue until April 15, 2026.

From 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. (with the exception of the below changes), parking is prohibited in most City streets and municipal parking lots, regardless of weather conditions. Vehicles parked during prohibited hours may be ticketed and towed, and subject to applicable fines.

Downtown Orillia Parking Changes

To improve downtown accessibility and flexibility, overnight parking in the downtown area (on-street and in designated municipal lots) is restricted from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. effective Nov. 15. This change was recently approved by Council and applies to:

  • Municipal parking lots 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 10
  • On-street parking from Andrew Street to Front Street, and from Colborne Street to Coldwater Street

A map of the affected areas is available at orillia.ca/parking.

Boulevard Parking

Residents who require off-street overnight parking may park within the boulevard (the area of their driveway between the sidewalk and the roadway) year-round, provided vehicles are parked:

  • At least 1.5 metres back from the sidewalk, and
  • At least 1.5 metres back from the roadway.

Overnight Parking Permits Available in West Ridge

Limited overnight parking permits are available in select municipal lots in West Ridge for the winter season.

  • Walter Henry Park: 7 spaces
  • West Ridge Park: 4 spaces
  • Clayt French Park: 13 spaces

Permits cost $375 + HST (non-refundable) and are valid from Nov. 15, 2025 to April 15, 2026, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Residents must follow the application process to obtain a permit. Permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
