An update on a regional labour study will be presented to local businesses attending the Orillia Economic Development Committee’s (EDC) first annual symposium later this month.
The symposium is set for June 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rotary Place, and is intended to update local business on current EDC initiatives as well as engage business stakeholders in developing upcoming economic development priorities for the City of Orillia.
The program will include a report to the business community over lunch by the Economic Development Office.
Also, Trudy Parson, a consultant working on the Labour Market Partnership Project, will outline the project aimed at addressing skilled labour shortages in the region.
Following lunch, businesses will be invited to brainstorm around future EDC priorities. Information from the symposium will be reviewed by the City’s Economic Development Committee to help form a work plan moving forward.
In advance of the event, businesses are being asked to complete a short survey to help facilitators understand the needs and challenges of local stakeholders. TAKE THE SURVEY!
Space for the event is limited. To reserve a seat, please contact the EDC at 705-325-4900 or via email at edc@orillia.ca
