A city-owned plot of land in the Drinkwater Industrial Park could soon be sold.
The city has received an offer of purchase.
“It’s a small industrial park developed in the ’70s,” said Ian Sugden, the city’s director of planning and development. “There’s a few remaining parcels up there that have never been sold.”
The industrial park is located on Brammer Drive.
At Monday’s council meeting, city staff were directed to complete the transaction to sell one of the lots, which is 1.568 acres. The offer was made on one of the lower-valued properties in the park, Sugden said.
“This one is a tougher parcel for people to deal with just because it’s sort of low-lying and needs some fill and that kind of stuff,” he said, noting that work would be the responsibility of the purchaser.
The City's Industrial Development Charges Moratorium is still in effect. For information regarding the moratorium and/or current properties for sale, contact Dan Landry, Manager of Economic Development at dlandry@orillia.ca
