The City of Orillia Parks, Recreation and Culture Department has launched its upgraded program registration software S.U.N. System. The new system is more user friendly, better organized, and contains new features that make registering online for City of Orillia recreation programs easy.
“The City’s new S.U.N. System improves customer service and enhances the availability of online services to our residents,” said Ray Merkley, Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture. “People can still register for programs in person at City Centre, but if they want to do it online, it’s now easier than ever before.”
Individuals, including existing users of the City’s old registration software, must create anew account in order to register for programs. To create a new account, visit www.orillia.ca/sun.
The Parks, Recreation and Culture Department is encouraging people to create an online account at their earliest convenience to ensure the transition process runs smoothly. City staff are also hosting two open houses at City Centre on Aug. 18 and 25 from 5 – 7 p.m. to help residents with account creation, registration, and program information.
Using the S.U.N. System online is the preferred method for securing a spot in a particular course. Submission of a registration form does not guarantee a place in the recreation program, as all registrations are processed in the order they are received.
Registration for fall recreation programs is not open until Aug. 21; however, early registration for swimming lessons is available as of Aug.12. Look for the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department’s Fall Made Fun brochure in the Orillia Packet and Times and at City facilities on Thursday, Aug. 21, for a complete list of programs available.
Important dates to remember:
Starting now! - Create an online S.U.N. System account.

Aug. 18 and 25, 5- 7 p.m. - Open house at Orillia City Centre. Staff will be available to assist with account creation and program registration.
