For immediate release (April 22, 2015) – The second phase of construction on Coldwater Road, from 200 meters west of Patrick Street to east of Collegiate Drive, is set to begin Monday, April 27, with project completion scheduled for October 2015.
“We understand that Coldwater Road is a major arterial road within the community,” said Mayor Steve Clarke. “The City will do everything we can to reduce the impact of this much needed construction, including implementing signage for businesses affected and posting regular updates on social media and the project webpage.”
The project includes a road widening, inclusion of bike lanes and the replacement of underground servicing.
During this construction project, the West Ridge Transit Route will be detoured off of Coldwater Road between Patrick Street and Collegiate Drive.
The following transit stops will be unavailable during the detour:
- Westbound Coldwater Road at the walkway to Park Street across from Emily Street
- Eastbound Coldwater Road across from the Atrium Home
- Eastbound Coldwater Road at the Salvation Army
The following transit stops will be relocated:
- The Westbound stop at Collegiate Drive will be relocated from the northeast corner to the northwest corner
- The Eastbound stop at Patrick Street will be relocated from the southwest corner to the northwest corner
To minimize delays to the West Ridge Route during construction, an additional bus will be added to the route during peak passenger hours. While crews will endeavor to limit the inconvenience to transit riders, the West Ridge Transit Route will be delayed at times.
