City of Orillia Council Committee and regular Council meetings are now streaming live online.
“With the availability of web streaming, anyone with an internet connection can watch live Council meetings,” said Mayor Angelo Orsi. “Whether residents are at home on the computer or on-the-go with their mobile device, they can stay up to the minute with discussions and decisions of Council.”
Rogers TV is facilitating the live streaming video on their Orillia City Council website http://rogerstv.com/OrilliaCityCouncil. You can also find the link on the City’s Current Council Agenda webpage at http://www.orillia.ca/.
Live streaming video will only be available online once the meeting officially starts and until it ends. Rogers TV is in the process of setting up archived video of meetings to be viewed afterward; this is expected to be completed within the next two weeks. Archived videos will remain active for one year.
Much like any other video streaming site, customers are responsible for any bandwidth usage beyond their monthly limit. Users can refer to the Rogers TV site or contact their Internet service provider should they encounter any technical difficulties; the City of Orillia is unable to assist with video streaming technical issues.
