Employment Service Providers Kick off Regional Labour Market Study
Simcoe County and Muskoka Region employers of all sizes and types are being asked to participate in a Labour Market study. Ten of the county and regional employment services organizations are working together with renowned consultant Tom Zizys to study labour needs in both of the regions.
Employers are being asked to complete a survey that will enable the employment service providers to peek behind the curtain and have a better look at the real versus perceived labour market in Simcoe and Muskoka.
The survey will be available until April 27th, 2012. To complete the survey please click the link provided. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/63K7RZP
Gathering information that gives a clear snapshot of these districts and communities will allow service providers to deliver employment market services that improve connections to the demand side of the labour market.
“There is a constant tension between the needs of employers for workers and the success of workers who are seeking employment. This project will provide important new local data to understand the disconnect between the supply and demand side of the local labour markets”, notes Kathy Low Project Coordinator with Northern Lights Canada.
Low continues, “Armed with this information employment service providers will be well equipped to support employers and job seekers, benefitting all of our communities.”
A final report of the study will be available to all employers who participate. Employers will also be invited to a post survey workshop for a facilitated analysis of the study results.
