Explore, win, discover at fourth annual business expo

For immediate release (October 16, 2014) – Visitors to the fourth annual Orillia & Lake Country Business Expo, October 23 from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Casino Rama Ballrooms, will have an opportunity to win more than $2,000 in draws, prizes and giveaways. 

This year’s event will feature more than 90 local businesses from Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Rama, Ramara and Severn Townships.  Exhibitors will have a wide variety of unique and everyday products on display along with information on the services they provide. The show features everything from small retail boutiques to property maintenance services. 

“Last year’s event was a huge success,” said Dan Landry, Manager of Economic Development with the City of Orillia. “The business community across Orillia & Lake Country came together to showcase the talents and services our region has to offer.” 

The Expo is billed as an opportunity for consumers to meet businesses, according to event organizing committee chair, Ken Forbes. 

“In 2013, the event saw 103 exhibitors and more than 800 consumers,” said Forbes. “The show is unique in that it gives small and home-based businesses an affordable opportunity to market their products and services to consumers, alongside some of the more established and well-known businesses.” 

“Shopping locally is an important message for the Expo,” said Julia Crowder, the City’s Economic Development Officer.  “The Expo is a chance for consumers to learn about local services, while providing a venue for local businesses to network with each other.” 

Key partners and sponsors for the Expo include Casino Rama, Scotiabank, Orillia Trim and Door, Orillia and Area Community Development Corp., Business Enterprise Resource Network, the Orillia, Oro-Medonte and Ramara Chambers of Commerce, the Townships of Oro-Medonte and Ramara, Chippewas of Rama First Nation and the City of Orillia.
