The City of Orillia is completing a transit operational review of its conventional transit service and wants to hear from you. The transit operational review will be reviewing and analyzing the following:
- Efficiency and effectiveness of the existing service routes and schedules;
- Schedule and route structure including recommendations for improvements to existing transit routes and potential additional routes;
- Options for the expansion of service to areas not serviced by transit;
- Terminal location;
- Service policies and fare structure;
- Vehicle requirements;
- The possible utilization of electric and/or hybrid buses;
- The possible placement of bike racks on City buses.
The last operational review was completed in 2009 and recommendations from that study were implemented, including the establishment of the current five route system. Since 2009, Orillia Transit ridership has more than doubled, creating a need to review the current five route system.
