Description of the Lands Affected by the Proposed Comprehensive Zoning By-law:
A detailed Key Map has not been provided as a Comprehensive Zoning By-law is a document that regulates the permitted uses of all lands within the City of Orillia, as well as governs the location, size, and height of buildings and structures.
Purpose and Effect of the Proposed Comprehensive Zoning By-law:
A municipality is required to update its Zoning By-law no later than three (3) years after the approval of an Official Plan. The City’s Official Plan underwent a five (5)-year review and was approved by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing on March 17, 2011. If passed by Council, the proposed Zoning By-law will replace the existing Zoning By-law 2005-72 and implement the New Official Plan.
Both the Open House and Public meeting are opportunities for the City to receive input from the public on a Draft of the Comprehensive Zoning By-law. The public input received at the Open House will assist in formulating a Final Draft that will be presented to Council for consideration at the Public Meeting on Thursday, December 12, 2013.
