Three volunteers who have served the Orillia community for more than a decade are being awarded the 2013 Order of Orillia at a special ceremony before Council on Sept. 30.

The Order of Orillia recognizes individuals and groups who dedicate their time and effort to bettering the community through volunteerism. The award is reserved for residents who have enriched the lives of others through a decade of service to the people of Orillia and who stand as shining examples in the community. Established in 2000, the Order of Orillia has been awarded to community members such as Douglas Christie, Charles Penny, the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Volunteers and Robert Bowles.
