For immediate release (December 18, 2014) – The City of Orillia has closed a portion of Forest Avenue between Crawford Street and Hilda Street in order to repair a sanitary sewer break.
The break was discovered yesterday afternoon. Crews immediately diverted flow upon discovery and implemented an action plan to contain and repair damage.
Sewer impacted soil will be removed and replaced with clean fill.
The road is expected to be closed for the remainder of the day. Vehicles and pedestrians are being asked to avoid the area to avoid traffic congestion.
Updates regarding the road closure will be posted on the City of Orillia website at orillia.ca and on the City of Orillia social media feeds.
