As per the direction of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the posting of Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park, has been lifted.
Moose Beach, located at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park, will remain posted for the weekend until the City receives updated bacterial counts from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
Couchiching Beach and Moose Beach were posted on Aug. 19, 2015, due to higher than normal bacteria count.
Lifeguards will be back on duty at Couchiching Beach as of 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 21.
Swimming at posted beaches can increase a swimmers risk of developing irritations and infections. Beaches affected will be posted, and swimmers are cautioned to swim at your own risk. Please note, lifeguards are off-duty when a beach is posted.
