Mayor Steve Clarke and Councillor Cipolla presented the second installment of the City’s 2015 grants program to 10 worthy community organizations at the Orillia City Centre this afternoon.
This second round of grant presentations totaled $12,189 of the City’s $64,500 grants budget for 2015. This included funding delivered through the new Partnership Programming for Cultural Festivals and Events. The program looks to recognize the valuable contribution festivals and events make to the economic and social fabric of the City, building strong partnerships between the not-for-profit, business and cultural sectors.

Grant recipients through the Partnership Programming for Cultural Festivals and Events include:
- Orillia Beatles Festival: $2,000
General grant recipients include:
- Dress for Success Orillia and Barrie: $500
- St. James Anglican Church: $1,500
- Theatre Orillia Double R Productions: $500
- Orillia District Arts Council: $1,000
- Orillia Lawn Bowling Club: $500
- Orillia Terry Fox Run: $688.58
- RACE Against Drugs Orillia: $500
- The Sharing Place Food Bank: $2,500
- The Sunshine Project Steering Committee: $2,500
The first round of grant presentations totaled $11,210. An additional grant of $25,000 was provided to the Mariposa Folk Foundation, bringing the total value of grants approved so far in 2015 to $$48,399.
