The City of Orillia will be providing select municipal services at Orillia City Centre by appointment only beginning on July 6, 2020.

“I would like to thank Orillia residents and businesses for their patience and understanding as we continue to modify our service delivery model during COVID-19. The City strives to deliver leading-edge, efficient and effective services and we will continue to do so during this pandemic whether it’s online or in person.  The health and safety of our residents and staff continues to be a top priority as we phase in our reopening,” said Mayor Steve Clarke.

Beginning July 6, residents will have the ability to book appointments through an online portal for services provided at Orillia City Centre, 50 Andrew St. S. Appointments can be booked through an online portal available starting on July 6at orillia.ca/onlineservices. Various appointment times will be available for selection based on staff availability. For those who do not have access to the internet, appointments can also be booked by calling the specific City department providing the service. Visit orillia.ca for a list of contacts.

Appointments will be available for the following:

  • Marriage licences
  • Commissioner of oath services
  • Building permits application drop-off and payment
  • Planning applications drop-off and payment
  • Tax and water payments
  • Lottery licencing – beginning July 13, 2020

Visiting City Centre for your appointment

When visiting City Centre for an appointment it is mandatory that you wear a face mask. Additional safety measures will be in place, including physical distancing signage, sanitation products and protective barriers. Visitors are asked to attend their appointment alone unless a support is required. Visitors will be screened prior to their appointment and must check in at the Customer Service Desk. If you do not feel well on the day of your appointment or have been in contact with someone not feeling well, do not visit City Centre and contact us to reschedule.

Residents are encouraged to continue accessing City services through the website, email and phone when possible.

“City staff are doing a tremendous job serving the community during the pandemic and continue to adapt how we deliver important services on a daily basis. As per the Province’s Stage 2 reopening plan, we are pleased to begin offering in-person, appointment-based service where appropriate in order to serve our residents while keeping the health and safety of our staff and the community paramount,” said Gayle Jackson, Chief Administrative Officer.

It’s important to remember the following:

  • Stay home and away from others when you are feeling ill.
  • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or using an alcohol-based sanitizer.
  • Keep a physical distance of two metres when outside your house.
  • Wear a mask/face covering where physical distancing is a challenge or not possible.
  • Avoid touching your face and cover your face when coughing or sneezing.
