Become a Certified Tourism Ambassador!
The City of Orillia is continually working to support front-line tourism and hospitality teams with tools to help visitors, tourists, and even locals decide where to go and what to see, be it attractions, restaurants, hotels, local lore, cultural landmarks, etc. We understand that exceptional customer service is the most important part of making visitors feel welcomed and are the ones responsible for making sure that they get the best experience possible during their stay.
With the help of our free training program we hope that you will become an ambassador for the City of Orillia and assist our visitors to enjoy activities that are tailored to their unique interests and getaway aspirations!
How it Works
The training program consists of six eLearning modules and will take approximately 2 hours to complete.
- Overview of Tourism Ambassador Program
- Orillia's Heritage and History
- Orillia "Today"
- Attractions and Tourism
- Enriching the Visitor Experience
- Contributors and Key Tourism Partners
Each module will include a lesson, scenarios, and assignments or knowledge checks. Progress can be saved to complete the certificate program in segments, modules, or as a whole.

How to Begin:
- Follow this direct link to the City of Orillia Tourism Ambassador Certificate Program.
- Select “New User? Register” (or Sign In if you have already registered). Register by entering your email address and accept the terms and selecting "Register”.
- Go to your email and follow the link to complete your registration.
- Select, “Enrol”, and “Start”.
- Don’t forget to change your password and add your first and last name by using the stacked menu in the top left corner.
- Get certified!
