Patio Season Hits the Sunshine City
It’s that time of year again, when al fresco dining, an array of culinary pleasures, and a festive atmosphere all come together to create a magical experience across Orillia’s restaurant scene with the city-wide See You on the Patio program. Celebrations extend downtown on Canada Day and run every Friday evening throughout the summer with street closures. Enjoy browsing a wide variety of locally owned shops and services, and experience dinner and a show with restaurants organizing weekly live music for diners, like Lot 88 Kitchen & Bar’s weekly Friday evening shows, located at 294 Memorial Ave.
Orillia has quickly become a foodie’s nirvana, drawing unique restaurateurs from all over who have chosen the heart of the city to showcase their unique offerings. Most recently demonstrated at the grand opening of Fare Restaurant, 50 Museum Dr., by famed chef Kalven Sherry of Krew Kitchen and Catering. Located on the historic Leacock Museum grounds, this stunning waterfront restaurant has brought gourmet dishes with a creative local twist to the already booming culinary scene.
From farm-to-table fresh, old-world tapas dining, and authentic Italian and Mediterranean meals, to gluten and/or dairy-free and vegan specialties, every taste, and dietary need can be met in oh-so-many delicious ways. We’re even home to Couchiching Craft Brewing Co., which offers locally made craft beer and a menu featuring fresh, original recipes.
If you’re looking to grab lunch to enjoy at a nearby park or the beach, dining with friends while shopping, stopping for a hot beverage and treat, or enjoying a mouth-watering meal surrounded by an easy-going vibe, you’ll find just what you’re looking for in the Sunshine City.
