The Leacock Museum is a unique and intimate setting for your private function.  Whether it be for a birthday celebration, anniversary or wedding, you will wow your guests with our beautiful location nestled on the shores of Lake Couchiching. Swanmore Hall, the Boathouse and grounds are typically available for meetings, parties, events, luncheons, product launches and more.

Due to Covid-19, all bookings are cancelled up to August 31, 2020. As a result of provincial announcements made July 17, the Museum will resume bookings for small private functions in the Hall as of September 4, 2020. Other spaces may also be available; we encourage you to call our friendly staff to discuss.

In addition to standard Museum policies, bookings will be subject to the following terms and conditions until further notice: 

  • The hall is limited to 10 people to ensure social distancing measures are being followed.
  • Weekdays only are available at this time – please call for openings.
  • Food and beverage service is not available but your guests are welcome to bring their own individual servings of food and refreshments. There will be no access to kitchen amenities, including water. All required serving utensils, dishes, cutlery and drinkware are the responsibility of the client.
  • As a public space, all current safety procedures must be followed. This may include using hand sanitizer and wearing masks.
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted on the property at all times.
  • Leacock Museum staff will work with you to ensure that set up is done to your specifications. For safety purposes, all furnishings provided will be able to be disinfected and will be cleaned before and after your event.
  • Please provide your own technology/equipment at this time.
  • Contact information for all your guests will be required to ensure proper contact tracing is available in the event of an outbreak.

The Museum and grounds may be made available for commercial photo or film shoots. Such access will be costed individually based on client requirements.


There is no food or liquor service at this time.


A 50% deposit, payable to the Leacock Museum is payable at the time of booking to guarantee event dates. The balance is due 30 days prior to the event date.
