Franklin Carmichael Park Improvement Project Underway

The Franklin Carmichael Park improvement project is now underway. The project includes replacement of some of the playground equipment and the addition of a new pickleball court.

The new and improved Franklin Carmichael Park will also include the original swing set, spring car and the existing small play structure with the single slide. 

Construction has begun and is expected to be completed by August 2026. During construction, portions of the park and parking lot will be closed to the public. The City of Orillia appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this work is completed. Notices have been hand-delivered to nearby residents and businesses, and the public is asked to use caution around construction areas.

The contractor for the project is ABC Recreation Ltd.

Construction hours will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday. After-hours emergency calls should be directed to the Orillia Fire Department at 705-326-4671.
