Overnight winter parking restrictions in Orillia

From Nov. 15 to April 15, overnight parking is prohibited on most City streets and municipal parking lots between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m., regardless of weather conditions. Vehicles parked during prohibited hours may be ticketed and towed.

Parking in downtown Orillia

Overnight parking in the downtown area (on-street and in designated municipal lots) is prohibited from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. between Nov. 15 to April 15.

Overnight winter parking permits

Limited overnight winter parking permits are available in select parking lots within West Ridge, as well as in the downtown Lot #5. Permits are shareable and not tied to a licence plate, making them convenient for households, visitors, and overnight guests.

Permits cost $375 + HST (non-refundable) and are valid from Nov. 15, 2026 to April 15, 2027, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Residents must follow the application process to obtain a permit. Permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

Parking on the boulevard

Residents who require off-street overnight parking may park within the boulevard (the area of their driveway between the sidewalk and the roadway) year-round, provided vehicles are parked at least 1.5 metres back from the sidewalk, and at least 1.5 metres back from the roadway.
