Notice of Public Information Centre Sundial Creek Subwatershed Class Environmental Assessment

The City of Orillia invites you to attend an upcoming public information centre (PIC) discussing the City’s Sundial Creek Subwatershed Class Environmental Assessment.

Register to join us virtually. There will be a formal presentation, along with the opportunity to converse virtually. Staff will be available to explain the project, answer your questions and discuss your thoughts and feedback.

Public Information Centre Overview:

The goal of the study is a stormwater strategy that assists with ecological restoration, specifically the protection and restoration of a healthy Brook Trout population.

The purpose of the PIC is to share a summary of background data and observations, present the preferred solutions, and to answer questions and collect feedback. The environmental assessment has evaluated six subwatershed strategies according to their impact on the natural environment, social and cultural considerations, economic feasibility, and technical engineering restrictions. The study identified Alternative 6 as the preferred solution. It integrates oil and grit separator units, Low Impact Development practices, and targeted stream restoration.

We want your feedback as we continue to shape this important project.

Public Information Centre Details:

If you can’t attend online on June 9, come back to this webpage (orillia.ca/SundialPIC) after June 9 to review the presentation and complete the survey. Use the survey to complete the Q&A features, leave comments and ask questions by July 9. Your feedback will be incorporated into the project outcomes.

Thank you
