Emergency Management and Preparedness
Emergencies can happen anytime and can impact people, property, and the community. From severe weather and power outages to large-scale incidents, the City of Orillia has faced many emergencies before and will again.
Be ready
A little preparation goes a long way in protecting yourself and others during an emergency. Severe weather can leave you stranded, be prepared to stay safe in your vehicle for hours. Preparedness is a shared responsibility, and simple steps help protect you, your family, and your community.
Emergency response plan
The Orillia Fire Department leads and coordinates the City’s Emergency Management Program, working with city staff and community partners to prepare for and respond to emergencies effectively. Through on-going training and planning, we help ensure Orillia is ready when it matters most.
The City of Orillia follows provincial requirements under Emergency Management Ontario to maintain a coordinated and effective emergency response plan. The City’s Emergency Response Plan is built around four key areas Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery.
