Property Standards

Municipal Code Chapter 866 - Maintenance - Occupancy Standards and Chapter 834 - Clean and Clear  establishes minimum standards for the maintenance and occupancy of properties within the City. This includes owners of rental residential property. The Property Standards Committee hear appeals of orders to remedy a violation that are issued by Property Standards Officers.

Following the standards

Property standards ensure the upkeep and proper condition of both the interior and exterior of a property, as outline in the City's Occupancy Standards and Clean and Clear municipal codes. All repairs and maintenance of property required by the standards prescribed in the by-law shall be carried out in a manner accepted as good workmanship in the trades concerned and with materials suitable and sufficient for that purpose.

  • Exterior Stairs, Balconies and Fire Escapes

  • Walkways, Driveways, Ramps, Parking Areas and Landings
