Grants Committee

Mandate

Established in 1998, the Grants Committee's mandate is to review and make recommendations to Council on applications requesting grant funds from the City.

The provision of grants, subsidies or municipal resources demonstrates Council's commitment to working with local non-profit, charitable, and community-based volunteer organizations.

These groups provide beneficial programs and services to City of Orillia residents or assist in creating economic stimulus to the local community through the hosting of a special event.

How to apply

There are two Streams for applying - Community Grants and Special Events Grants. Please review City Policy 4.2.1.1. - Guidelines - Grants Committee to ensure you are applying for the appropriate Stream.

There are two application intake deadlines each year - March 15 and September 15.

Applications received by the deadline will be:

  1. Reviewed by staff for eligibility and completeness.
  2. Referred to the Grants Committee once deemed complete.
  3. Reviewed by the Grants Committee, with recommendations reported to Council.
